GRAVEL TRAIN OPERATIONS RESUME IN MAT-SU Traffic reminders for gravel mine areas near Palmer and Kashwitna Alaska Railroad (ARRC) and gravel mine operators remind Mat-Su residents and drivers that gravel mining activity and rail transportation resumes: early May along Glenn Highway near Inner and Outer Springer Loops (Palmer) mid-May at Kashwitna (north of Wasilla) Palmer: Expect 3-hour delays at Outer Springer crossing during train loading, approximately 6-10am (and 6-10pm when 2 trains operate daily). Use Inner Springer Loop for alternate access to Glenn Hwy. Inner Springer will be blocked 20-30 minutes during the end of the loading process, 9-10am/pm.
